Passion for outcome

Every week of the year we meet new women who have a gynaecological cancer. The aim of the Gynae oncology team is to be able to achieve the best possible outcome for the woman. As clinicians we are constantly looking for good evidence from well designed research to guide us in our decisions. Unfortunately there are still many unanswered questions. Patients are well aware of the need for research and the vast majority of women in New Zealand are keen to be involved in research themselves knowing that they are contributing to the outcome of other women in the future.

New Zealand has a very good international record in gynaecological cancer research because of this. Contributing towards research in some way is a very positive step that everyone involved can make.
