Graci Foundation Garden Party
On March 16th 2015 the Graci Foundation held its second fundraising Garden Party.
Originally intended for the beautiful house and Garden of Kate Shepherd House - a cyclone forced a last minute change of venue to the safe indoors of Cathedral Grammar with many thanks to Paul Kennedy - headmaster.
A day of decorating on Saturday ensured the school hall became a flower filled conservatory for an indoor Garden Party - in spite of torrential rain, it was an enormous success.
Bubbles and Pimms greeted a sellout crowd, who were then entertained by Uncle Boyce Jazz Band and the choir of Cathedral Grammar.
Hilary Muir from the Breeze was once again a fantastic MC and made a great partnership with the quite outstanding auctioneer Phil Mc Goldrick. Between them they entertained and enchanted a very glamorous group of guests. There was food and wine , a fantastic silent auction and the highlight of the afternoon the live auction - which ended in a very tense bidding war for the ultimate holiday location at Black Barn vineyard. The suspense was almost unbearable.
None of this would have been possible without our amazing sponsors, Foodstuffs,Fulton Hogan,Archibald Motors, Anytime Fitness, HFK Accounting, Lane Neave and Oxford Womens Health.
Major prize items came from patients, Belle Interior, Christchurch Obstetric Association, Sagio Di Vino, Marilyn kellor, Nicola Quinn, Cakes by Anna and Anytime fitness. Thank you to all these and the many more who so kindly and generously donated to our day and made it such an enormous success.
Overall we made a record $ 45,000 !
