Assessment and awarding of research grants applications.
- Due to the small community of gynaecological cancer researchers in New Zealand the Board recognises the potential for conflict of interest of both board members and external reviewers. The board will therefore have a group of reviewers from both within the gynaecological cancer research and the broader cancer research setting to allow allocation of independent review.
- Grant applications will be presented to the research delegated board members for initial review of quality of application and then allocation of expert reviewers.
- Applications will be sent to 3 reviewers along with scoring criteria.
- Reviewers will have 4 weeks to review applications
- Reviewers comments and scores will be presented to the board and grants awarded.
- Successful and non successful applicants will be informed in writing of the outcome of the awards within 8 weeks of closure of the applications.
- Successful applications will be published on the GRACI website.
- The grants will be uplifted within 12 months of award except in exceptional circumstances approved by the board.
- Grants will be paid in to accounts of recognized research organizations, trusts or health providers, not to individuals.
- The Principal Investigator will be required to submit a progress report for their research at 12 months from award.
